Our Community and Outreach Programs
Our Community – the villages of Lusignan, Good Hope and the surrounding communities living at or below the poverty line.
RHI’s vision is that all children have access to quality education; safe home environment; adequate nutrition and healthcare; and that the rights of all children are adhered to and respected.
Adequate food, clothing, healthcare and an acceptable home environment are necessary for a child to achieve academic success. Research has shown that the increased stress level in a child raised in poverty affects the cognitive abilities. Our strategy is to work with parents supporting and encouraging them to invest in their children well being and education.
Children come to the Centre to bolster their academic skills so they can get out of the cycle of poverty and abuse so many of them face. Many of them use the Centre as a safe haven to escape from their reality and a sanctuary away from their home life.
